Oral and maxillofacial surgery is a specialty that requires up to six additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training. As oral and maxillofacial surgeons, Dr. Elwell manages a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial structures. He practices a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, with expertise ranging from removal of wisdom teeth to corrective jaw surgery, diseases of the oral tissues, facial trauma and cosmetic facial surgery. They also perform a full range of dental implant procedures. They do not however, manage or treat diseases of the temporomandibular joints (TMJs).

Dr. Elwell has a highly trained staff and practice in a state-of-the-art office setting. He has operating privileges at Twin Cities Hospital in Niceville, Sacred Heart on the Emerald Coast in Destin, and Emerald Coast Surgery Center, an outpatient facility, in Fort Walton Beach.

Staff

The surgical staff of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates are highly trained and motivated to meet each patient’s needs. They have completed advanced surgical and anesthesia training through the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Our administrative personnel are extremely knowledgeable and experienced. They are available by phone to insure speedy and appropriate access to our practice. They are also very skilled in working with medical and dental insurance carriers and are familiar with all the major plans.

While each staff member is specially trained in their area of our office, all of our personnel are advanced CPR certified.
