ConsultationYour initial visit with us will generally start with a consultation appointment. Your diagnosis will be explained and treatment and anesthesia options discussed. In some situations, surgery can be completed without the consultation. However, please be aware that many factors, including a complex medical history or treatment plan, financial or insurance issues may necessitate a second appointment. Our scheduling personnel understand your concerns and will make every effort to keep your trips to our office to a minimum. A parent or guardian, with appropriate documentation, MUST accompany all patients under age 18 to the consultation and surgical appointments. You can help us ensure your initial visit goes smoothly by having the following information at the time of your visit:
Be prepared to discuss any medical conditions that may be of concern at your initial appointment, to include diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and/or joints, rheumatic fever, recent surgeries, and anticoagulant therapy and heart medications. X-raysRecent radiographs are required for most appointments, and in the case of a panorex x-ray for wisdom teeth, insurance companies will pay for one film in a three to five-year period. If your dentist or physician has taken recent x-rays (within the last year for wisdom teeth), you may request that they be forwarded to our office. If time does not permit mailing, please pick your x-rays up and hand carry them to the office. Remember to plan normal office closures such as lunch and Wednesdays. If additional films are necessary, they can be taken at our facility. |
